Coastal Payroll is currently looking to hire a HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. Responsible for executing and administering the organization's HR functions, maintaining employee relations and engagement best practices, and payroll administration.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Regularly review Human Resources initiatives, practices, and policies with CHRO to identify areas of need and for improvement and automation.
- Stay informed of current employment laws and apply to internal policies and practices as needed to ensure compliance.
- Assist in maintaining HR infrastructure tools, including but not limited to job descriptions, employee handbook, IIPP, required posters, etc.
- Coordinate safety programs, workers' compensation claims, and OSHA reporting.
- Maintain employee files and other HR records in compliance with appropriate recordkeeping requirements.
- Produce regular and ad hoc records and reports using HR metrics in order to inform management decisions, as well as to maintain compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Support and monitor the implementation of performance improvement plans (PIPs) with non-performing employees.
- Assist in reviewing and guiding recommendations for employee terminations.
- Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
- Conduct investigations when employee complaints or concerns are raised.
- Assemble and send welcome packages, and coordinate/conduct new hire orientation.
- Coordinate offboarding and termination procedures, including exit interviews.
- Contribute to the Company's culture by serving on the "Culture Club" and supporting Company events.
- Enter and prepare Sales and Ops expenses for payment on a weekly basis.
- Review Alerts Export (missed punches, missed meals) on a weekly basis and flag as needed.
- Import time to Time Entry Grid on a weekly basis.
- Review for excess overtime on a weekly basis and flags as needed.
- Enter Sales Commission checks on a monthly basis.
- Interface with Finance and Tax on payroll and benefits as directed.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Strong generalist knowledge and experience in all HR functional areas.
- Proven ability to deploy knowledge and critical thinking skills in recommending resolutions of HR matters.
- Oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact positively with different types of personalities.
- Ability to exhibit professionalism, confidentiality, initiative, and commitment.
- Organizational and time management skills, and ability to meet deadlines with quality work.
- Seven (7) to ten (10) years HR management experience required.
- Human Resources experience in California required.
