Position Summary
The Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for payment and filing of all client taxes and returns. They are responsible for resolving tax notices, completing various tax projects, and communicating directly with clients regarding their tax matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform daily tax deposit and reconciliation procedures from banks, payroll, and ACH
- Perform quarter end procedures - tax return filing, tax payments and reconciliation
- Resolve tax notices from Clients
- Resolve tax variances and run adjustments in payroll system in order to correct errors
- Communicate with tax agencies regarding tax balances or delinquencies and communicate findings with clients
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, quarterly tax returns, and annual tax returns
- General knowledge of accounting practicing and principles
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Ability to stay organized, pay close attention to detail, and be accurate
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients
Education
- BA/BS Degree is preferred
Physical requirements
This position requires one to sit for an extended amount of time. They are also required to use basic office equipment.
